HELLO FROM VEGAS!!! - Pecos 2, Las Vegas, Nevada

 Hi my friends and family!  This week has been so so busy but it has been good!

• I left the CCM last week! It was actually so tragic saying bye to my district, may or may not have cried. I already miss them so bad  but I KNOW they're going to be such good missionaries and do so many great things

• Made it to Vegas! It's cold! Not what I expected but I think it is going to get pretty hot pretty soon 

• All the new missionaries got to go to the Las Vegas temple! It is SOOOO pretty wow and I got to see all the Hermanas from my CCM district! It was so fun to see them all. 

• I've had 3 member meals so far! They've all been pretty different but it's so fun to meet all these cute members. They give me so much food 

• On Sunday I gave a little talk in church! Basically just introducing myself and sharing my testimony. I don't know Spanish yet though so I just read it word for word off my paper lol

• I have never seen sooo many cats everywhere it's crazy 

• My companions are STL's (sister training leaders) so we have been very busy and have had 2 exchanges already! Tried a yummy corn/mayo/cheese Mexican snack from a snack cart 

 Spiritual thought

I have been having a really hard time with my Spanish and feeling very unqualified and overwhelmed with everything, but I also know that God has put me where I am for a reason and He knows what is best for me and I need to trust Him! I know that God has a plan for every one of us and knows the bigger picture. We are here on this earth and have weakness and trials for our growth and learning. Ether 12:27

Letter from Las Vegas East Mission Leaders

What a joy it was to welcome Sister Jenkins to the Nevada Las Vegas East Mission! We are grateful for her decision to serve a mission.

Week 6: LEAVING THE CCM!!!

Wow this is so crazy I can't believe I'm leaving TOMORROW!!! Not gonna get much sleep, I leave at 4am?? My time here has been so much fun I will miss it. I will miss my district sooo much. Shoutout 10 F. Best district EVERRRR Hermana Steele has been the best companion she is so sweet and fun and I'll miss her so much. Hermana Jardine, Hermana Partridge, Elder Tobler, Elder Hahl, Elder Stark, and Elder Madsen (best DL), I'LL MISS YOU ALL!! Shoutout Hermana Christósomo y Hermano Davilá they were the BEST teachers 

This week was soo fun. Some highlights!

• We took our end of MTC tests and they were not as bad as I thought

• Our last "helping others" activity went really well! We taught this cute old lady named America on zoom and she was so sweet 

• Shoutout Hermano Dávila 

• VALENTINES DAY!  Everyone was wearing pink and red it was so cute, here's my district!

• Got to call Dallin on his birthday! 

• Hermana Steele did my nails soo cute 

• Sunday! Hermana Steele, Elder Tobler, Hermana Partridge and Elder Stark spoke in church! And Elder Hahl said the closing prayer. Good job everyone 

• It was our districts turn to sing in church, we sang "Did You Think to Pray" while Hermana Jardine played the piano 

• Elder Stevenson came and spoke to us! It was really good, and we all got to shake his hand after

Spiritual Thought

I have learned so many things during my time here, the biggest thing being that God has a plan for me and all I need to do is try my best and open my mouth. If I don't open my mouth and try, nothing can be taught. Even if I am not fluent in Spanish and I don't know what I'm saying, my efforts to teach God's Children and have faith will be enough and the Spirit will teach. I know this is true for me and for everyone. All we need to do is try our best to be Christlike and trust in the Lord and He will magnify our abilities and we will be blessed.

I can't wait to start this new chapter of my life in Vegas and I know God will be with me every step of the way :)

Week 5! - CCM, Mexico City, Mexico

Not much new this week, still just the same old routine but time is FLYINGGG I only have one more week in the CCM! SO crazy. It is so true, the days are long but the weeks are short. I don't feel ready yet as far as Spanish goes, but I am also sooo excited to get to Vegas!!

Some things from this week:

• Gave my first sacrament talk in español! It went horribly, stumbled over every word and probably mumbled through the whole thing but está bien!

• Someone keeps playing lala land on piano and it makes me want to cry because 1: it's so beautiful 2: I miss movies baddd 3: I miss music

• Our district did a pickleball tournament today with another district and it was really fun even though my partner and I did not win first place  Shoutout Elder Osborne

• Shoutout Hermano Dávila for telling us about the time he taught a murderer (then Hermana Steele and I had to make a lesson as if we were teaching a murderer, hopefully I'll never be in that situation)

•I can kind of roll my r's now so thats cool and I can finally do the missionary flick (not very loud but progress is progress)

• I am getting better at teaching in Spanish from my head without reading off my notes 

• Hermana Jardine gave me the creative freedom to paint on her mini Libro De Mormón

• We played poker with fruit loops shoutout Elder Tobler

• Shoutout Elder Stark for being excited when he found out my brother is Oats Jenkins (go subscribe)

• Lots of practice lessons and listen and repeats (no me gusta, muy muy dificil)

• We had to evacuate because of an earthquake that was quite far away so that was fun (did not feel it at all)

• District all wore floral one day! (I don't have floral so shoutout Hermana Steele for letting me borrow a floral skirt)
